When we experience trauma when we’re young (whether it’s your parent’s getting a divorce, or your older brother taking away your favorite toy) your body remembers these experiences and does its best to protect you. The body does this by understanding when we’re starting to get stressed and then telling us to panic because this might be that same unsafe situation. |
